Q: How will Pinehill manage and communicate concerning gender and sexuality in our current culture?

A: As a ministry we will not turn away students based on sex or sexual preference, however we will have
some guidelines and policies while on camp property. Understanding some students who attend camp
may identify as varying sexes, it is the policy of camp Pinehill Baptist Retreat to require students to
reside in the cabin of their birth sex as identified on their original birth certificate. We conform to the
original design in creation as mentioned in Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2. Understanding this is a struggle for
some students, we desire for them to seek Christ and their identity in Him not only in a decided or
selected sex.

As well, we understand students may struggle with sexuality and sexual preferences. It is the policy of the
camp that students who proposition students of the same sex will be treated as those who violate
policies concerning inappropriate and unacceptable conduct while on camp and disciplined in like
manner (i.e. reprimand, call to parent/guardian, or expulsion from camp property).

Our desire in not that any student would continue to struggle in any of these areas but to seek the
Lord’s guidance for proper life and practice as a believer (Eph.2:8-10; Phil. 1:27; Rom. 1:26-27;1 st Cor.
6:9-11).

The above statements reflect the language found in the Pinehill by-laws as determined by our board of trustees.
